SPIC External Directors Inspect SEPM, Mozura Wind Power Project in Montenegro

From May 22-29, 2019, a delegation of SPIC External Directors, accompanied by SPIC Chief Economist Gao Guangfu and SEP Chairman and Party Secretary Wang Yundan, visited SEP (Malta) Holding Ltd. (SEPM) and Mozura Wind Power Project in Montenegro to conduct a research.


During the research, SPIC External Directors delegation went to Montenegro to inspect Mozura Wind Power Project first, then went to Malta to inspect SEPM and D3 Power Generation Limited, and also visited Chinese Ambassador to Malta Jiang Jiang and Joe Mizzi, Minister for Energy and Water Management of Malta.



At the site of Mozura Wind Power Project, SPIC External Directors highly affirmed the project for the important enlightening meaning in Chinese enterprise developing tripartite cooperation overseas and realizing overseas progressive development as the first European renewable energy greenfield wind power project jointly developed by China and Malta in Montenegro.



At D3 Power Plant, SPIC External Directors expressed satisfaction in work of safety, environmental protection and operation management by the power plant, and praised the efforts made by the power plant in acquiring ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 international certification.



SPIC External Directors paid visits to Chinese Ambassador to Malta Jiang Jiang and Maltese Minister for Energy and Water Management Joe Mizzi successively.


Ambassador Jiang spoke highly of the encouraging results in safety management, localized cooperation and social responsibility made by SEPM. He noted that the project set a good example for other Chinese enterprises to develop overseas, and hoped the project to attract more Chinese enterprises to invest in Malta.


Energy Minister Mizzi welcomed the visit of SPIC External Directors, and expressed that the cooperation between Maltese Energy Ministry and SEP will reach a new level with the signing of a new version of MOU between the two sides.


SPIC External Directors appreciated Chinese and Maltese governments for lending strong support to the project in Malta, and stated that China is willing to deepen cooperation with Malta based on the new version of MOU, attach importance to energy storage power station, integrated smart energy, offshore floating PV power and construction of the first zero carbon emission demonstration zone in Europe, give full play to their respective strengths, and join hands to create the 2.0 era of Sino-Malta cooperation.


At the headquarters of SEPM, SPIC External Directors listened to the company's report on operation situation, management thinking, risk control, work safety, decision-making procedure, overseas public relations management, overseas Party construction and follow-up strategic planning, highly affirmed SEPM's achievements made in various stages, and hoped the company to further deepen cooperation with Maltese partners centering on the newly signed MOU, complete the strategic implementation of SPIC through execution and application of the group company's JYKJ management system, and build a better demonstration effect for Chinese enterprises "going global".


On behalf of SEP, Wang Yundan thanked SPIC External Directors for the positive evaluation and pertinent advice on the project in Malta, and expressed that SEP and SEPM will actively convey and implement the expectations and requirements of the directors and SPIC within the company, execute SPIC's development strategy, and strive to become SPIC's pioneer and pacesetter in building a world-class clean energy enterprise.
