First 220kV Submarine Cable Delivered for Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Project

On May 6, 2018, SEP President Wang Huaiming attended the delivery ceremony of the first 220kV submarine cable for Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Project in Nantong, Jiangsu province.

Wang Huaiming congratulated Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Project on the successful delivery of the first submarine cable, and expressed sincere thanks to all the companies participating in the project design, manufacturing and construction for their efforts. He required Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Company and various participating companies to insist on "safety first" while paying high attention to quality, strengthen organization and coordination, speed up engineering construction, further optimize construction plan, keep construction cost under control, and ensure that the project will be completed and put into operation as scheduled. He also hoped all parties to work together and build the project into a benchmark offshore wind power project.

Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Project is the first offshore wind power project developed and constructed by SEP, which is also such project with the longest offshore distance in China, marking another representative project for SEP to implement SPIC's strategic measure in focusing on developing and constructing offshore wind power projects. Located in Dafeng district, Yancheng, Jiangsu province, the project, with a total installed capacity of 300 MW, is the offshore wind farm with the longest offshore distance in China at present. The project adopts 220kV double-circuit three-core submarine cables for electricity transmission, with the single-circuit submarine cable 52.5 km in length, which is also the longest and heaviest high voltage submarine cable in China so far.

Dai Sufeng, SEP Deputy Chief Engineer and General Manager of Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Company, and the persons in charge of related departments and companies joined in the ceremony.
