Pakistan's NEPRA Vice Chairman Visits SEP

On November 9, SEP Chairman Wang Yundan accompanied Saif Ullah Chattha, Vice Chairman of National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) of Pakistan, together with a delegation, on a visit to Caojing Cogeneration, Caojing Power Plant and related transmission and distribution facilities in Shanghai. SEP Deputy President Huang Chen participated in the event.

 

 

At Caojing Cogeneration, Chattha listened carefully to how cogeneration improved the power plant's overall efficiency as well as the pricing method of electricity, steam and demineralized water supplied to Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. At Caojing Power Plant, Chattha visited the jetty, main power house and main control room, and inquired about the parameters on the power plant's efficiency, ultra-clean emission, etc. He also went to the 110KV underground transformer station and 10KV distribution station located in the city center of Shanghai, learned about the construction layout of transmission and distribution facilities, drew on the advanced experience that the area with land shortage enhanced management efficiency and power supply reliability through information automation technology. In addition, he extended thanks to SEP for its thoughtful arrangement and detailed introduction, and spoke highly of the company's development and management capacity.

 

 

Wang Yundan held a meeting with Chattha at the company headquarters, and introduced the related preliminary work on the stake purchase of Pakistan-based K-Electric Limited (KE) in detail. He expressed that SEP has already been prepared for comprehensive investment and transformation in power generation, transmission and distribution sectors in Karachi, while planning to make KE a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative. He also noted that SEP has confidence to improve Karachi's power supply service in the short term, and hoped NEPRA to help push forward the company's stake purchase progress. Chattha highly appreciated the company's technological capability and investment plans, and vowed all necessary support from NEPRA for the KE stake purchase.

 

 

Chattha and his delegation visited SEP's showroom, knowing about the company's century-old development history and achievements.

 

 

SEP Deputy Chief Economist Shi Mingwei and leaders of relevant SEP departments and subsidiaries also attended the event.
