Qian Zhimin Meets Maltese Minister for Energy and Water Management

On June 21, 2018, SPIC Chairman and Secretary of Party Leadership Group Qian Zhimin met with Joe Mizzi, Minister for Energy and Water Management of Malta, at the company headquarters. The two sides held in-depth communication on further deepening energy cooperation and reached a consensus.



Qian Zhimin expressed gratitude to the Maltese government for the strong support given to SPIC Maltese energy cooperation project and Mozura Wind Power Project in Montenegro. He introduced the development situation and advantages of SPIC to Mizzi, suggesting that both sides strengthen cooperation in offshore wind power, distributed energy and related fields in the next stage, fully leverage SPIC's technical and management strength to further enhance the diversity, safety and economy of Maltese energy sector, and make greater contributions to the energy development of Malta and neighboring countries.


Mizzi spoke highly of SPIC's achievements made in Malta and Montenegro in the past four years. He expressed that the renewable energy power generation of Malta will account for 10 percent of the country's total power generation by 2020 according to EU's renewable energy action plan, and hoped that SPIC could participate in the energy research and planning work for the future of Malta positively, and provide intelligence and experience support for realizing the energy development goal set by EU.


The related leaders of SPIC International Business Department and SEP joined in the meeting.
